LA Bridge T-Shirt

L.A. Bridge is selling T-shirts at a new discounted price of $10.00.  The proceeds will go to help purchase some band equipment.  L.A. Bridge is the praise band formed out of Fulton, Elbaville and Mocks UMC.  The shirts are navy blue with white lettering stating L.A. Bridge with an image of a bridge and several crosses.

By the way, they will be performing at our "L.A. Bridge Evening Service" held monthly - each second Sunday night at 7:00 pm and at the "Contemporary Morning Service" held on the last Sunday of each month at 9:30 am.

See Sarah Ivey if you would like one of these shirts or you can order them through the mail (address listed above).

Children's & Youth Ministries

Our children's ministries include Sunday School and monthly L.A. Bridge Disciple Classes (currently have nursery, early elementary and youth classes).  We have a children's message at the 9:30 am service, followed by dismissal to Children's Church with lectionary-topic Activity Sheets.

Adult Ministries

For ongoing Bible Study, we provide three adult Sunday School classes, including a senior class and a young adult class for 20-30 year old adults, and we have monthly L.A. Bridge Disciple classes for young adults and adults.  Other opportunities for Christian growth and fellowship include United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men, Sew Sisters (a prayer quilt ministry), Bible Study and Adult Choir.

Community Outreach

Prayer Quilt Ministry

The Sew Sisters meet Thursday evenings to piece, tack and bind prayer quilts, leaving the ties that hold them together untied.  Each quilt is then placed at the altar, and Fulton church members offer a silent prayer for the recipient and tie a knot in the quilt.  Each quilt is presented to the recipient by members of the Sew Sisters, along with a card that describes the prayer quilt ministry and a bookmark that explains the history of "prayer cloth healing".  This ministry is based on the premise that "prayer is one of the most powerful tools that God has given us."  Donations and fund raisers (homemade craft items, such as quillows and pillows) support this program.

School Supply Program & Adopt a Needy Family

Donations by Fulton church members are given to the annual School Supply Program and to provide for families in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.

Senior Class Mission Room

Members of the Senior Sunday School Class manage a Mission Room, in which they gather clothing, books, and other yardsale items.  Items can be purchased by church members by making a donation; other items are donated to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Storehouse for Jesus, etc.

The Komen Race for The Cure

Members of the church gather donations and walk on teams in The Komen Race for The Cure, a fund-raiser event in Winston-Salem for breast cancer.

Shut-In Ministry

This ministry involves visitation and devotions by members of the United Methodist Women for senior church members who are shut-ins at home or residing in a nursing home.  Visits are made every Tuesday to provide a monthly visit, at a minimum.

Family Ministries

A monthly Family Night (Day) is enjoyed by the entire congregation.  These often involve covered-dish meals and games or other activities for both children and adults.  Family Nights (Days) have included a puppet show by the Tyro UMC Puppet Group, entertainment by singing groups and praise bands, a Valentine Prom Night and trips to the Lazy-5 Ranch, the zoo, and area family parks.

Small Group Ministries

L.A. Bridge Disciple Classes (Lower Advance community event)

This is a new ministry event open to all ages.  It includes nursery, early elementary, youth, young adult, and adult classes.  The classes are held in the evening of the 2nd Sunday - before we gather together for a contemporary worship service, that includes our L.A. Bridge praise band.

Bible Study

Bible Study is a small group that meets on Wednesday evenings and completes two or three studies each year.

United Methodist Men

A breakfast meeting is held the 3rd Sunday of each month at 8:00 am with all men welcome.  Funds are used for various church projects.

United Methodist Women

Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm with all women welcome to join us.  Various fund raiser projects are held throughout the year (poorman's suppers, homemade chicken pies, and selling pecans and vanilla flavoring).  Funds are used for church projects and community mission work.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship

Meetings are held every week on Sunday at 5:00 pm unless special activities; see church Newsletter or Website - Special Event Schedule on this page for more details.  The group includes youth from Fulton, Elbaville, Mocks and Advance United Methodist Churches.

Kids Club Christian Gathering

This is a new ministry event open to all children Kindergarten through 5th Grade.  We hope to make this a monthly fun and faith development activity.

Music Ministries - Adult Choir

The choir meets when scheduled at 7:00 pm for practice.

Other Special Events & Services

Other special events include Homecoming, Community Revival, Sr. Citizens' Dinner, Memorial Service and many other holiday services.
